Do you suffer from Foot Pain in Tampa?

Do I need to see the foot pain specialist of Tampa or a podiatrist?

Do you suffer with Foot Pain?

Navigating the medical system and getting to the correct specialist for your foot pain, in Tampa, is a stressful and often a very misguided path. There are a number of foot pain specialists in the Tampa Bay area, but only one that will get to the source of your pain. Kevin Votta uses Muscle Activation Techniques as the key to solving your foot pain problem.

Let’s take a look at one of your other options and why it may or may not be the solution.

The foot is a very complex structure constructed of over 52 articulating surfaces and more than 30 muscles. Mastering the understanding of the dynamic relationships between the muscles and joints of the foot takes years. Unfortunately, for those suffering from foot pain, very few medical programs dive into the inner working of the foot. Instead, most of the medical programs keep the focus on memorizing anatomical structures and general dysfunction of the foot.

Treating the dysfunctions that have led to your foot pain are valuable for a time, but they are also a slippery slope that leads to dysfunction through the entire body!

Podiatrists in Tampa

Let’s take a little closer look at one of the specialized medical fields that treat foot pain. Most podiatrists use a number of different shoe inserts to redistribute and support the foot in positions they deem support is needed. These inserts are called orthotics and come in every imaginable shape and material. But BUYER BEWARE........

Podiatry is extremely focused on the foot pain and the foot pain alone. It is this hyper-focus of one area of the body that is this modality’s downfall. It can be beneficial if the issue you are experiencing is truly a foot issue. Unfortunately, most foot issues are not foot issues at all.

Four-reasons-for-foot-pain

See the foot is often the place in your body that you end up compensating through and ultimately agitating, causing enough inflammation that pain shows up there. Podiatry can play a valuable role in getting pressure off inflamed tissue and helping minimize your foot pain. However, this needs to be a solution implemented for a short period of time, not long term. For long term success, you must address the weakness going on above the feet if you are not to cause a greater problem at some other joint in the body.

Your Solution for Foot Pain!

Podiatry gone wrong in Tampa......

A great example of podiatry causing more pain than it is able to correct is when a client comes in expressing knee pain. In such a scenario, imaging is often done on the knee and more often than not, there is no structural damage that is creating their knee pain. When asked when the pain showed up, clients often remark, "well it was right after my foot pain got better, thanks to these inserts." And there you have it. Those inserts did take the pressure off the inflamed tissue in the foot so the foot could heal but it then forced the body to put that excessive force that was in the foot on the knees, and knee pain shows up. Don't worry.  If it wasn't the knee, it would have been the back that took the force or an even a worst-case scenario, it could affect them all the way up to their jaw.

This is podiatry's shortfall. It is a great temporary fix, but the underlying issues need to be identified if long term success and pain-free joints are to prevail.

How do I know if the solution my podiatrist come up with is causing more of a problem?

  • Foot pain gets worse but in a different area of the foot

  • Knee pain shows up

  • Your hips start to feel tighter and become harder to move

  • You start to have pain in your hips

  • Your back starts to become uncomfortable

  • Your back hurts and standing up tall or bending over becomes a problem

  • You experience sciatica nerve pain down the leg

  • Your shoulder starts to become uncomfortable

  • Your neck become stiff and aggravated

  • You experience clicking in your jaw

Any of the following can be an indication that the changes you have made in your foot ware are having a negative impact on every other joint in your body. Do not wait to take action if one or more of these show up. Your body has become compromised and you are creating excessive wear throughout your body.

There is a better option for healing foot pain in Tampa!

  • What if you could work with your body to heal your pain?

  • What if you could give your body the strength it needed to stabilize your skeletal system via something you already carry around with you?

  • What if only mild external intervention and direction was needed for you to heal your foot pain?

  • What if .........there was a better way to live life pain-free???

Muscle Activation Techniques, by Greg Roskopf, looks at the body as a whole vs individual parts. With this approach, we can track down and strengthen the specific areas in your body that have become weak and need help. By strengthening the area that is weaker, we give your body the ability to heal the area that has become inflamed and painful without even having to work with the painful area.

More often then not, foot pain is not a foot problem. Stop treating the pain and get to the source of your problem!

Get out there and live the day to its fullest, pain-free and full of enjoyment!

Yours in Health,

Kevin Votta
