Communication Between The Trainer And Client Is Key To Success

Let's face it, working with a personal trainer who considers you just another customer, to get in and out the door, isn't what most people are looking for in a fitness coach. Unfortunately, it's often what people experience.

When a trainer doesn't truly listen to you, it's akin to talking to a teenager with headphones in – they aren't really going to understand what you are talking about even if they act like they heard every word you said. It's about the depth of understanding and the sincerity of actively LISTENING.

Working with a fitness trainer who prioritizes you – by actively and sincerely listening to your needs, expectations, and goals – can help you meet and exceed your personal fitness goals.

  • Some of the things that Kevin helped me work on is... I didn't realize that I had a small scoliosis in my lower lower back. And that it, the spine twisted more to the left, and that overall that the left side of my body, especially the left side of my back was the weaker set of muscles in my back. And that I've been compensating for that. And then at the same time that I had the shoulder injury in my right shoulder. So the lower left back and the upper right shoulder were basically pulling against each other.

    So in that first two to three months of working with Kevin that was where he gave a lot of focus and helped me with that. So it was like overall it helped balance and align those muscles so that I was really supporting my back better. It really helped me with sleeping, really having a much deeper rest when I slept.

    And then just working on how to do the fasting and working on what I was eating and when I was eating it around the exercise is where, I think, overall I had the most benefit because that's when I knew that I had more energy and just could do things better overall in life.

    So the impact to the goals that I had set with Kevin that I wanted to accomplish they were so far exceeded because it wasn't just about losing weight and getting healthy. It really helped me be able to just be so much more functional in my life and that, that ability to get more rest and feel more energized just spilled over into everything else in my life.

    I would say the strongest connection overall or the biggest takeaway for me when I look back over the last year and a half, two years of working with Kevin is he really listens.

    When he's nodding his head, when he's listening to what you're saying, he's not doing that just to get past the moment of whatever you're talking about. He really listens and then he really pays attention to what you're doing when you're in the position or the exercise that he's asking you to do.

    He's really committed to trying to help you improve and to do that in a way that really incorporates with the rest of your life. That's really what I think is the most admirable about Kevin is that he's personal and he personalizes things while helping you make sure that you're doing what's best for you and that it works for you.

    He's incredibly sincere. Everything that he does is truly sincere and it's meant to help you it's not it's not just you're coming to show up so that you're just another customer.
